Roll up, roll up

I recently rediscovered these images, taken with a Samsung pocket camera at a travelling fairground in my hometown of Chesham, Buckinghamshire in April 2009. Tweaking the saturation and contrast seemed to emphasise that 50s rock’n’roll vibe that I associate with the rides and the cocksure carousel operators who seem unchanged from my youth. They always remind me of Ringo Starr and David Essex in That’ll Be The Day.
