Roll up, roll up

I recently rediscovered these images, taken with a Samsung pocket camera at a travelling fairground in my hometown of Chesham, Buckinghamshire in April 2009. Tweaking the saturation and contrast seemed to emphasise that 50s rock’n’roll vibe that I associate with the rides and the cocksure carousel operators who seem unchanged from my youth. They always remind me of Ringo Starr and David Essex in That’ll Be The Day.

First quick use of the excellent Etchings app which lets you add an artistic flair to the most ordinary picture. For this I used a light application of the Matcha setting.
