The May 24th Marathon Derby is one of the highlights of the Bermuda Day holiday which traditionally marks the start of summer. Every year, the 13-mile race, from Somerset in the west end of the island to the capital Hamilton, attracts hundreds of runners of ages and abilities and thousands of cheering roadside fans.
The race passes the foot of our lane along picturesque Harbour Road in Warwick at around the 8-mile mark, so we always make a point of being there to cheer on our friends braving the heat and humidity. I took these shots using Hipstamatic, mostly with the Hornbecker lens/Blanko film combo.
